Simone van Ruijven is Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at Compliance Champs and has built her career at the intersection of traditional finance and crypto. She advises financial institutions and crypto-asset service providers on regulatory compliance under the Wft, Wwft, MiFID, MiCAR and PSD2 and on all “traditional” compliance subjects including ABC, AML, CDD and KYC.

Before joining Compliance Champs in 2025, she was Head of Risk and Compliance Europe at Archax Europe, CEO and owner of Moon Compliance Services, Legal & Compliance Director at LiteBit and Senior Compliance Officer at Rabobank. Simone has set up and managed complete Legal, Compliance and Privacy departments, including their full control frameworks. She holds a Master's degree in Dutch Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam and is a Certified Compliance Professional and Privacy Officer. Clients value her hands-on approach to building compliance functions that are robust, well-governed and aligned with regulatory expectations.
